The 2021 hurricane season is already upon us, and while we always hope for the best, we must also prepare for the worst. Foundation for Puerto Rico is encouraging everyone to act proactively and preventatively during their storm planning.
Our Whole Community Resilience Planning program developed certain tools to mitigate risks prior to an emergency. The Social Capital Maps and the Interactive Vulnerability and Risk Maps allow communities to analyze a multitude of variables and alternatives to their surroundings to combat any possible threat. These maps are organized into six categories based on interest: economic development, education, infrastructure, health, living, and the environment.
In addition, we have compiled a list of resources for small businesses and nonprofit organizations to aid in your planning process amid hurricane season.
