Business owners participating in our business programs PULSO and [re]ACTIVA, have suffered a great deal due to the hurricane effects on their businesses, and later the power outage across the archipelago. Many have lost thousands of dollars in perishable products and equipment, and others have suffered immense damage in their businesses’ infrastructure. Some have even confronted the need to close their business operations indefinitely as a result of Hurricane Fiona. During the post hurricane emergency stage, both programs have been offering technical assistance to participants with the application process for incentives offered by the local government. In the days that follow, both programs will continue to offer technical assistance and try to ensure that these businesses are able and ready to open again once the emergency is over.
Also, in response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Fiona, the “Levanta tu Negocio” initiative has been reactivated to accelerate the recovery of small businesses on the archipelago. Through this initiative, administered by Colmena66, and in collaboration with other entities like ourselves, information is being collected to identify damages and losses suffered by local small businesse, to then link them with organizations that can provide them the personalized support they need.

During the emergency we are experiencing, it is important to provide them with the necessary support so that they can continue operating and offering their services to the communities.
