Annie Mayol receives the Clinton Global Citizen Award alongside Madeleine Albright and other awardees
Established in 2007, the Clinton Global Citizen Awards honor outstanding individuals for their commendable leadership and work towards positive and lasting social change. This year, our president Annie Mayol fills us with pride by being one of the honorees alongside other remarkable leaders like Secretary Madeleine Albright; Christelle Kwizera, founder and managing director of Water Access Rwanda; Melva Williams, Presidential Leadership Scholar and vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management at Southern Shreveport; and Dr. Basem Hamid, practicing neurologist for his work to reduce the stigma of substance use disorder.
Annie’s path at Foundation for Puerto Rico began in 2018, shortly after the devastation that Hurricane María caused in the island.
Annie Mayol was acknowledged for her work to transform Puerto Rico through sustainable socio-economic development strategies. As an organization, Foundation for Puerto Rico has witnessed her passion and commitment towards building a stronger Puerto Rico. Her vision inspires us all to be better, work harder and be true agents of change in our lives and our society as a whole. She is an example of a true global citizen, and she shares this recognition with the whole FPR team, who give their all every day to continue fighting for a better Puerto Rico. We could not be prouder to have her lead this organization.
