y\u00a0relevante\u00a0de lo que sugieren las estad\u00edsticas convencionales.\u00a0Hist\u00f3ricamente, la medici\u00f3n incompleta\u00a0de\u00a0la actividad de\u00a0este sector\u00a0la\u00a0ha mantenido al margen de nuestra narrativa econ\u00f3mica\u00a0cuando,\u00a0en realidad, es uno de los motores de crecimiento m\u00e1s vitales de la isla. Por esta raz\u00f3n,\u00a0Foundation\u00a0for\u00a0Puerto Rico (FPR)\u00a0llev\u00f3\u00a0a cabo\u00a0un\u00a0an\u00e1lisis\u00a0extenso\u00a0y\u00a0desarroll\u00f3\u00a0un nuevo marco de\u00a0medici\u00f3n\u00a0para la\u00a0econom\u00eda\u00a0del visitante, detallado\u00a0en el estudio\u00a0titulado\u00a0\u201c<i>Modelo de Desempe\u00f1o de la Econom\u00eda del Visitante de Puerto Rico<\/i>&#8220;.\u00a0Ese documento\u00a0corrobora y\u00a0evidencia\u00a0la informaci\u00f3n\u00a0que se presenta aqu\u00ed de forma\u00a0resumida.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\">FPR define la econom\u00eda del visitante (EV) como un sistema econ\u00f3mico integral que abarca m\u00faltiples sectores que generan valor a partir de la actividad y el gasto de los visitantes. Los sectores incluidos son el turismo, la hospitalidad, las artes, la cultura y el comercio al detal, entre otros. La estrategia de FPR enfatiza la EV como punta de lanza del desarrollo econ\u00f3mico general de Puerto Rico. Esta se apoya en los activos naturales y culturales \u00fanicos de la isla para crear experiencias aut\u00e9nticas para los visitantes que, a su vez, benefician a la comunidad puertorrique\u00f1a. Esto se traduce en creaci\u00f3n y retenci\u00f3n de empleo, mejoras en infraestructura y una mejor calidad de vida.\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Lo que distingue a la econom\u00eda del visitante es su capacidad para generar nuevos ingresos provenientes de fuera de Puerto Rico. A diferencia de\u00a0otros sectores que circulan el capital existente, la actividad de visitaci\u00f3n inyecta ingresos externos directamente a la isla, produciendo una balanza de pagos positiva que fortalece la sostenibilidad de nuestra econom\u00eda.\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\">El\u00a0<b>Modelo de Desempe\u00f1o de la Econom\u00eda del Visitante<\/b>, desarrollado por FPR,\u00a0ofrece la visi\u00f3n m\u00e1s completa y precisa sobre el tama\u00f1o y la estructura de este importante sector econ\u00f3mico.\u00a0El modelo va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las encuestas tradicionales, que dependen de que los visitantes recuerden con exactitud cu\u00e1nto gastaron durante su viaje.\u00a0Adem\u00e1s, integra\u00a0un\u00a0an\u00e1lisis\u00a0de\u00a0patrones de\u00a0comportamiento\u00a0de\u00a0los\u00a0visitantes, considera\u00a0los\u00a0precios locales\u00a0vigentes\u00a0para una\u00a0amplia\u00a0diversidad de servicios\u00a0e\u00a0incorpora\u00a0categor\u00edas de gasto\u00a0a menudo pasadas\u00a0por alto\u00a0en las encuestas.\u00a0Todo esto\u00a0con el fin de\u00a0calcular y
